getting dual citizenship

my mother and father were both born in italy. my mother was born in 1910 and has now past away. my father was born in italy in 1897 and has passed away. i was born in 1950. do i qualify for dual citizenship. if so how do i apply for it

i was born in 1950 and my parents came to USA in 1929 and got married in new kensington PA......not certain what my mother or dad did concerning citizenship.............if they had a U S social security number does that mean they gave up italian citizenship???? how could i find out...thanks for your help
