Hi suanj :D
They may have slipped across the New York/New Jersey state line to get married.
I think first two children may have been born in NY abt 1871 & 1872.
Big Hug!
Valarie

Thank you suanj :D !
Another team effort - I was building on everyone's earlier research and suggestions!
Unusual that the manifests were easier to find than census records for Arcangela and her family :?

Thanks so much Suanj and Valarie!! You guys are great!!

A couple questions:

Suanj: I found the same 1870 census in Mamaroneck, West Chester, NY for Francesco and Bartolomeo Badaracco. If Francesco emigrated in 1867 on the "Panchito", married Arcangela in 1869, would there be a reason why he would be living with this large group of Italians without his wife/family?

Valarie: I now have 5 different spellings for Arcangela's last name: Donoaro (from gravestone), Daudaro (from marriage license), Dadero, Dondero, and Dondaro from the ship's manifest. How can I possibly know what is the correct spelling? I can't get anywhere with 5 different versions? lol!!

Thanks,
Marie

Marie
Here's a neat site for trying out different surname spellings (by region) I believe you can search with as few as 3 or 4 letters.

Valarie,

I used the site that you recommended. There are no surnames in Ligura region for: Donoaro, Daudaro, Dadero, and Dondaro. The only name that showed up for Ligura region was Dondero. What do you think??

Marie, the 1870 census that i found, it is not abt your ancestor, because, after Valarie post, we know that your ancestor was married previously... so it is not the same person... abt Arcangela, the surname is surely Dondero....
