Bello / Chirachi from Sala, Caserta / Briano Paterson, NJ

Hi there, I've got the 1910, 1920 and 1930 census records for Francesco & Lucia (Chirachi) Bello along with Draft Registration Card and the immigration record. Does anyone have any further informtion about this family from Caserta that settled in Paterson, NJ? More specifically, information regarding Francesco and Lucia's parents (immigration records list Francesco's father as Filippo but I have no further information except Sala Caserta/Briano.

If you wish to write directly to Italy to request birth/marriage records for Francesco and Lucia, you can write to the comune of Caserta in the province of Caserta. Sala is a frazione (small village) near Caserta, and the records would most likely be located in Comune of Caserta.

I see the Caserta records are available on Ancestry now. I'm still having trouble finding the birth records for Francesco and Lucia. Maybe I'm just blind today! Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

marriage note: Francesco married in Napoli on 26th(?) Apr 1908 or 1909 at Lucia Chirachi

Nice find suanj!

While trying to find the marriage suanj referenced above - I came across this marriage publication record (banns) for Filippo Bello and Cristina Rossi from 1882 (but it was in the 1906 listings on Ancestry)

Publicazione dated 13 May 1882
Filippo Bello, 26, day laborer, resident of Briano, son of deceased Francesco who was a weaver and lived in Briano during his life; and of Maria Menditto, a cotton spinner/seamstress, residing in Briano
AND
Cristina Rossi, 24, weaver/spinner of silk, resident of Sala, daughter of Francesco, a weaver, of Sala; and of Maria Fiorentino, a cotton spinner/seamstress, also of Sala.

Publication of the marriage banns (noted in the right column) was 14th, 21st, and 25th of May. In all likelihood the marriage took place on the next Sunday, which would have been the 28 May 1882.

It is also noted that the groom was born in Briano, and the bride was born in Sala.
