Touring Sicily

Anybody ever use any local tour companies to see the sights in Sicily? Did you like them? Were they flexible? Who were they and how much did they cost? What about hotels? Thinking of staying a few days in Palermo and a few days in Taromina. Heard they were good places to see the different regions with major tourist sites in Sicily. Any "don't miss" sites?
