Vallelunga Sicily: GERACI/Buttocallis

I am searching for any records on my great grandparents from Vallenlunga. I have booked a trip to Sicily August 2016. I understand years ago the church with the records was destroyed by an earthquake. The arrived into the United States via New Orleans prior to the building of Ellis Island. Unfortunately I had no luck with the records from New Orleans.

Here are the details I have on each:
Luigi Geraci Born in 1869
Seraphine Butticallis born in 1876

Luigi may have had a brother named John that married Vita.
Luigi's parents may have been Sam and Stella(based upon the naming convention of their children).

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have also reached out to a genealogist in Italy but he has had no luck. Thanks

There is a book called Le famiglie di Vallelunga which has a lot of the history of the families of Vallelunga Pratameno with names and dates
If you ask nice Marcello DAleo has a copy of the book he might send you the branch lines of Luigi Geraci and Serafina Buttacavoli

I don't know anything about the destruction of the church... but I can ensure you that the records are still existing, they start from the early 1700.

The church records are most likely stored at the church of Santa Maria di Loreto in Vallelunga Pratameno (Caltanissetta).

my only concern is that Luigi's son's name does not match to any of my records. Luigi also had a brother John, that was married to Vita Immordino. Luigi's parents names do line up.

Luigi's children were Guiseppe, Sam, Tony, and Stella(of course, American names)

Are you sure about he had a brother Giovanni Geraci?
