I joined but I have the toughest time finding the records outside the USA. My other side in Irish, which at least puts the records in English which I can then read without help! If you do find anymore please feel free to share.
Re: Catone Family, Formicola Italy
Heres Giovanbattista marriage like I said when he was born the civil official gave him the surname Triscinozzi then when his daughter Maria Catone was born they made the correction on the birth act that his surname was Giovanbattista Catone

Re: Catone Family, Formicola Italy
Marty, when it says deceased is that both parents or just the one? Also have you found anything on the siblings of Vincenzo Mincione? He was my grandfather.
Re: Catone Family, Formicola Italy
In records the word fu in front of the name means deceased nothing in front of the name means living or vivente living
toward the top of the record it says Pietro Mincione fu Paolo di anni quaranta di professione di bracciale= Pietro Mincione son of deceased Paolo age 40 a farmer
Birth record of Cristina Mincione (sister of Vincenzo)
INDEX#10
1866 June 24th in the town of Patelatone birth of Cristina Mincione daughter of Pietro Mincione age 40 (son of deceased Paolo Mincione) and his wife Maria Giovanna Carosone (daughter of deceased Vincenzo Carosone)

Re: Catone Family, Formicola Italy
Marty, I'm coming to you again. I was hoping you can do another search for me. I know that Vincenzo Mincione had an older brother Paul, here in English. He was born between 1861 and 1863.
There is also a possible other brother. He was born around 1871. He also used the name Jim or James Mitchell, here in the USA. He married in Saratoga NY to a Rose (not sure this is her Italian name or not) DeCristofaro (this now I have it spelled). She might have been born around 1891. I actually met Aunt Rosie when I was a child. I think she only spoke Italian.
Thanks in advance for anything you can find.

Re: Catone Family, Formicola Italy
. The records online only go from 1866-1910 you would have to rent the micro film records of Pontelatone from Family History Library to find his information because those years would be in there.I know that Vincenzo Mincione had an older brother Paul, here in English. He was born between 1861 and 1863
Nati (births)1835-1865 film#1138761
Heres the birth indexes of Pontelatone 1866-1875 they are per year in alphabetical order last name first just go through the pages to find Mincione family and the record number
PG LINK TO INDEXES
https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1 ... cc=2043630
In searching Italian civil records you have birth(nati) death(morte) marriage (matrimoni) by year most go from 1866-1910 some towns have other years. Indexes are found at the beginning or end of the year you are searching by index number and surname. There are also multi year indexes which combine 5 or 10 years of indexes.
So most of the time just look in the index for the name you are are searching for in that year you are searching then find the index number and go back in that year and find the record with that number on it.
Sometimes there are no indexes at all then its page by page search by year but just because one year has no index doesn’t mean all years don’t have a index
Births have 3 records per image most of the time marriages have 2 records per image deaths have 4 images per image sometimes records are single pages depends how they were photographed by the FHL Family History Library
Babies are born then presented to the civil official of the town usually within a few days of birth for entry in the birth registry that’s why the difference in dates on the record If there is a problem and they cant register the birth act until much later they are entered in the Parte 2 for that year usually in the rear of the records and that record is usually handwritten. Sometimes there are sidenotes with marriage or death information or if the act has a mistake in it a correction to those mistakes
Marriage records include birth town, ages, occupations, parents names and if they are deceased which is very helpful in record searching
Death records have the age of deceased also the parents names and if they were married and to whom and usually town of birth usually not the cause of death
Civil records are signed by the civil official and 2 witnesses not usually family members
The indexes for the churches in Italy of baptism and marriage and death are arranged by first name first (later years last name first) by year and date of the act and page and record number. Just find your person in the index and go back to the records to find the act you
Possible birth record of Rosa Di Cristofaro (Im pretty sure this is her )
INDEX#3
1890 Jan 7th in the town of Pontelatone birth of Rosa Di Cristofaro daughter of Giuseppe Di Cristofaro age 46 farmer and his wife Angelantonia Rocereto
