Translate Rosa Vitiello Marriage Record

Post by anthianl »

My Italian is very poor.

I just know it's about Francesco Paparone (born 1863? date?), son of Gennaro and Grande Catarina
and Rosa Vitiello (she was born on 28/11/1866 from another source), daughter of Salvatore and Jacone Maria

It talks about Ventotene (?) which is the island both parents of Rosa came from

I don't care of the witnesses

Thanks!

Here is what I see:

Marriage is dated 21 July 1888, and the seal is from the archives of Tunisia.
Francesco Paparone with Rosa Vitiello
After publication of the banns of marriage as required by the Council of Trent, and made on 24 June, and 1 and 8 of July, and resulting in no impediments to the marriage, the official joined in marriage Francesco Paparone, son of deceased Gennaro, and of Catarina Grande, born in Bacoli, Comune of Pozzuoli, year 1863 on 15 August, here residing, profession sailor; WITH Rosa Vitiello, daughter of Salvatore and of Maria Iacone, born in Calla di Francia(?), year 1866 on 18 December, here residing, [something] of Ventutene was presented as witnesses Paolo Coppola and Giuseppe Cesario(?), both residing here.

Thank you Tessa. I was able to add a few info like the birth dates (Rosa birth certificate shows November 18, 1866 - so not sure if it is a mistake?)

Bless your good heart!

Rosa's birthday is written as: "18 del mese di Dicembre" = 18 of the month of December, in the marriage act. If her birth act (the original) shows November, then the marriage act has an error. This would be unusual, since the spouses were required to provide their birth acts for marriage. BUT - it happens :-)
