Lawyer or Company to help w dual citizenship application

Post by antonio1874 »

Hello. My family is interested in applying for citizenship under the "Iure sanguinis" ancestry laws. My great-grandfather was born in Castiglione di Sicilia in 1874 and came over to NYC from Naples in 1905 (on the Algeria ship). His family name is Frisina, first name Antonio.

Just wondering if anyone can recommend a company and/or lawyer in the US or Italy who can help with the process and possibly expedite paperwork, avoid mistakes, etc. We are American and want to maintain dual citizenship which I understand is possible.

If not, any tips or suggestions from people who have gone through the process would be great. Sorry if this has already been asked in another post or board topic.

Thanks a lot!
Anthony

I saw that the myitalianfamily.com website offers a start to finish program. They gather all of the documents and do the translations. Still that does not guarantee you will be accepted. If there are discrepancies. They might have to be amended by court order. It´s not impossible, but it will take even more time and money.

There is nothing a service can do for you that you can't do for yourself, and in the process you will obtain valuable insight about your ancestry.

Most documents can be ordered online, and apostilles can be obtained by mail. This is not rocket science, really. :)
