Help Finding Birth Records

Post by ebroggi »

Hello! Im looking for birth/ baptism records (or even marriage certificates, basically anything with parent names) for Frank Broggi (probably short for Francesco.

Here what I know.
-His wifes name is Francesca Vaira
-He was likely from the Ono san Pietro area
-He immigrated to America prior to the birth of his children
-I believe he had eight children
-The child of his that im directly descended from is James Broggi
-I believe his fathers name was antonio.

Please help me in finding this information! I have exhausted every resource I could find with absolutely no luck.

Here you can find a ship manifest of 1903:

https://www.libertyellisfoundation.org/ ... 5pZmVzdCI7

for one Francesco Broggi from Ono San Pietro, whose wife's name is Francesca, and is an American citizen, as he first arrived in 1882.
He is going to Monongahela. Might this be him?

That's definitely it! The only problem is that I can't find any kind of early life records that might give me his parents names.

I can't find online records for Ono San Pietro.
However, according to the ship manifests, Francesco was born abt 1858, and Francesca abt 1866; so, there's no civil birth record for him. As Giovanni was born abt 1890, they must have been married before that.
So, you might want to write to:

Comune di Ono San Pietro
Ufficio Stato Civile
Piazzale Donatori di Sangue, 1 - 25040 - Ono San Pietro
or
Email: uff.anagrafe@comune.ono-san-pietro.bs.it

to request a marriage certificate ("certificato integrale di matrimonio", that is a copy of the original record)
On this Forum you can find help to write a request in Italian.
