Vito Francesco Scarola

My Great Grandfather born in 1853 in Grumo Appula. He came to the United States in 1906 with his family. Apparently, he passed in 1951, but I cannot find any information about his burial site. The only information I found is that he died back in Grumo Appula in 1951. How can I find out if this is true? His wife (Rosa) is buried with his son here in the US.

You could request hi death record from the Comune di Grumo Appula. If he died there he is almost certainly buried there but it is unlikely you will find a grave. See my website for an article titled Rest in Peace.

I have Scarola relatives from Grumo Appula also. I have a Vito Francesco Scarola born March 12, 1854. I do not know if he married and had children. He had 5 sisters - one, Filomena, married a Rocco Fariello who were my great grandparents. I have four generations of ancestors for my Vito. His parents were Michele Scarola and Grazia Priore. Do you have any ancestors for your great grandfather? If yes, perhaps we can see if there is a match.

Unfortunately I don't. All I've been able to find out was that he was married to Rosa Paragina and came to the US in 1906. Somewhere along the line, he returned to Grumo Appula and died there in 1954. His wife Rosa died in New York in 1954.
