Below is an 1896 transcription of a letter communicating the death of Raffaela Filomena Contardi.
I believe this record says she died May 17, 1890 in New York, but I am hoping someone can confirm this as I do not read Italian well.

Raffaela Filomena Contardi died in 1890, month and day not known
she was 51 yo, born and residing in Savoia di Lucania, daughter of deceased Nicola and deceased Carolina Parrella, widow of Gerardo Carpinelli
