- After his first wife died in 1930, Michael Chudkosky put his 3 children in an orphanage run by nuns, and returned back to Russia (though my uncle always claimed he was Polish). However, he returned to America. He married Maria Lucniak (don't know when or where). she was born in the Ukraine on October 14, 1905 and died December 1980 in New York. They had two children Helen Elizabeth born January 14, 1932 who married and had children), and Rita born May 1934. Given that his sons remained in an orphanage as their half sisters were born kind of hints that maybe his second wife also didn't want them.

The first newspaper article was not him. He was already dead*, plus if he had been alive, he would have been 65 years old. That patrolman was 38. Unfortunately on the baseball story, I do not know if Walter married and had children. He would have been 35 years old in 1960.
* Mike was born in 1897. His naturalization record states that he was born on November 10, 1897. A Social Security death record for January 1963 has him born on November 21 Monte escalier électrique, 1897, so I am not positive if that was actually him. I have seen small date errors before on some SS records where one date matches exactly, and another is off (often the same month and day, but one year off). No relatives were mentioned in the SS death record to help make me certain it was him. Chudkosky is a relatively rare name in the US.
Thanks for the update. I went to add them to my Tree, and there were new hints verifying your information and sources. (I have over 100,000 hints on my Tree and can't keep up with them anymore).
