Ricerca bisnonno in America

Over 25 million Italians have emigrated between 1861 and 1960 with a migration boom between 1871 and 1915 when over 13,5 million emigrants left the country for European and overseas destinations.

Ricerca bisnonno in America

Post by bellpait »

Buongiorno a tutti.
"NOLL'S GALLERY 232 Bleecker St., N. Y. Cor. Carmine St.".
Chiedo aiuto in merito.
Grazie

Ti traduco la richiesta e forse qualcuno potra' aiutarti.
I'm translating in the hope someone can help him.

Good morning everyone.
I am trying to determine the period in which my maternal great-grandfather Tito Severino Malavasi spent some years of his life in America and any related documentation.
He was born in Cavezzo di Modena in 1868.
From the municipal registers, it appears to have done the military service in the weapon of Bersaglieri starting in 1888 and, considering that at the time the military was 24 months he would have been in Italy at least until 1890.
The next certain date is the wedding date, or 1896, celebrated in San Biagio in Padule, a fraction of San Felice sul Panaro (MO).
I, therefore, came to the conclusion that the only period of possible residence abroad is 1891-1895, but I can't find any document proving it. I have not found anything on the Ellis Island database either
The only evidence of his American experience is a photo on which the photographic studio is
"NOLL'S GALLERY 232 Bleecker St., N. Y. Cor. Carmine St.".
If anyone can help it would be appreciated.
Thank you.
