The death act of Maria Rachele Zito's mother was presented. She died 1 September 1872.
The bride's father, who did not sign the Act because he was illiterate, gave his consent for the marriage to take place.

The left column gives the dates that the marriage banns were posted: 6 February 1881, 13 February 1881, remaining until 17 February 1881. (They were affixed to the door of the Town Hall.)

I've not seen the occupation Cardaro before. Cardaro may even mean shepherd? Not sure.

Good luck with your quest.

Cardaro is one of the words for a wool carder or wool comber. It varies in spelling depending on region. Sometimes it is spelled cardaio, cardatore, carditore, cartolano. Here's some info about this occupation:

The cartolano, or wool carder, was involved in the process of separating and preparing the wool fibers (or cotton) for spinning. In the days before the existence of machines, this kind of work was done by hand and, therefore, involved a great deal of skill and practice. The carder would take two carding combs, which had upright teeth, and load one with the wool fibers. Using a back and forth motion, he then would place one carder on top, and then "combed" the carder through the wool on the lower carding comb. When all the carding wool had been transferred from the bottom carder to the top one, the carding combs would be flipped over, and the process would be reversed. When the wool was light and airy, the fibers easily separated themselves and were free from tangles. The mass was then formed into a roll of fiber, which could then be used on a spinning wheel.

Just to clarify one thing-the date on the document is not the date of the marriage itself. This document is about the marriage banns which were posted on the 6th and 13th of the month on the door of the town hall. The first publication was posted on the 6th and remained posted for 1 week when it was replaced by the second publication on the 13th. The second publication was then only posted for three full days, after which it would expire. The marriage could then take place anytime after the second publication had expired, which the document lists as the 17th of the month.

In the marriage publications record, the occupation of Giuseppe Maria looks like bardaro whereas the occupation of his father looks like cardaro. In this record, it is clearly bardaro, which can also be spelled as bardaio. He was a saddler. Processed leather to make and sell saddles and harnesses.
