Francesco Antonio Motta and Angela Fanelli 1832 Marriage

Post by dita531 »

They are my 3rd great grandparents :)
TIA!
Below is what I have figured out so far:

Francesco Antonio Motta age 25 born in Letto Commune, a shepard living Strada San Giacomo,
Father: Giuseppe Nicola a mule driver living in Con Seco ?
Mother: Nicoletta Parrella

Angela Fanelli age 23 born in Laurenzana living in Strada San Vito
Father: Giuseppe (deceased) a farmer
Mother: Paulina Falotico

Is Letto Commune supposed to be Lettopalena?

He was born in detto comune (already stated town). He was 27 ventisette

the father was living with his son -con suo figlio

Date of the solemn promise (left column) June 9, 1832; actual marriage in the town's parish church-rgt column June 10th

Sorry, I'm confused... was he born Laurenzana then?
Family lore states that one of these people came from Spain so I'm trying to prove/disprove that. Thank you!

Yes, he was born in Laurenzana, according to this record. "detto comune" refers back to lines 5 and 6 on the left side of the record, where the town name is given. Possibly an earlier generation came from Spain, or family oral history might simply be incorrect.
