Locating Siblings ? Help & Explanation

Okay so, I am in my late 70s, technology is sometimes lost on me, browing the images on Family Search just gives me a headacche, and I get confused... but perhaps I'm just not doing it "right" and "finding what I need to find" - If that makes sense. In addition - my knowledge of Italian as a lanauge is terrible. My family grew up speaking Sicilian, a now seemingly dying language of Sicily.

Anyway, my great-grandfather, Girolamo Palazzolo, I'm unsure of how many siblings he had, but, I do have his parents names.

Girolamo Palazolo B: December 6th, 1875. D: March 23, 1942. I don't remember much about him physically, as I wasn't yet 3 when he passed. But, I remember my grandmother, Lucrezia Palazzolo (Giacona) B: January 1, 1878 (This is what her death cert. says-but no confirmation of it Hmm?) she had a brokenheart and was moved by my father and their sbilings to Creedmor facilities after Girolamo's death and remained there until she passed on March 27th, 1946.

Girolamo's parents are Natale Palazzolo & Maria Badalamente "Badalamenti" (perhaps more spelling variations)
Girolamo's father was born in 1837 and baptized in a chuch (Sara Vargrine? - spelling is besides me at the momen on Feb. 17, 1837)

Maria was baptized April 30, 1824 in the same church.

Maria and Natale were married on July 30, 1865.
(so perhaps that would be the beginning place to search for children)

Girolamo and Lucrezia were married in June of 1899. I have the information from Family search somewhere, but not in front of me at the moment.


It is believed that Girolamo had a brother Natale Palazzolo who married Giuseppa Vitale. (See this immigration record from Family Search --

But, while, the "Girolamo Palazzolo" listed was living at the address in NY listed. I do not see how Natale could be born in 1890 if the parents (Maria and Natale Palazzolo) were married in July of 1865. (It seems way too far to be a child)

It is however known that one brother "Natale Palazzolo" of Girlamo's went to Michigan, but I haven't had luck finding anything following that lead.

You had several responses to your post in June 2016, but never answered.

This included marrige and birth acts for your ancestors.

In addition, you received a reply from a Maria Giacona who was born in Cinisi, Palermo, and immigrated to England as a child. She thinks you may have a connection. Her father's mother was Serafina Palazzolo.

The birth act for Girolomo's brother Natale, born 15 June 1889, to Natale Palazzolo and Maria Badalamenti, is contained in the same family search records for Cinisi that Marty sent you (for Girolomos marriage) See image 710 of 2892. Sorry I am unable to link to it.

In addition, if you broaden the parameters of your search on Family Search - i.e. Look for Natal e born 1880-1900 - you will find his WWII draft registration in Michigan. I also found a passenger record from 1923 or 1925 where he's going to N.Y. but traveling with others from Cinisi going to Detroit - one of these men appears to be a possible brother in law. There are many Palazzolo found in the Detroit area some from Cinisi some Terasina, some Belastrate, neighboring communes, etc

Good luck to you in your search. If I were you I would also absolutely follow up on the info sent to you in 2016.
