Hello, it has been a while. I need a little help to check on a birth and to confirm one. First, I am looking for a Lorenzo Lamaina born in or around Donato, Italy about Feb 1871. Parents should be father,Vito Nicola Lamaina, and mother, Donata Pintozzi. Second, In Garaguso's birth records year 1871, image 5, event #6 is the child's name Gaudenzio or am I misreading. The month is Feb and parents are Vito and Donata. Could this be the Lorenzo from first question? Any help would be great.
Thank you,

Re: Looking for 2 possible births for Lamaina
Hi, by the ship's manifest of Domenica Scavetta and little Caterina Lamaina going to Lorenzo Lamaina in Philadelphia, PA, USA on 1903, https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903 ... cc=1368704
and by the birth record in Garaguso, on 5 nov 1902, of little Caterina Lamaina https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903 ... cc=2043814
the father was Gaudenzio Lamaina and the mother Domenica Scavetta... so I understand your perplexity
In effects, Gaudenzio Lamaina went in Phila, joining to his brother Francesco, on apr 1903

the address in Philadelphia, where Gaudenzio going to Francesco his brother, and the address in Philadelphia where Domenica Scavetta going to join her husband Lorenzo are the same address. So Gaudenzio is the birth first name, but probably called Lorenzo in the family..
Here the birth record of Gaudenzio Lamaina son of Vito Nicola (son of Gaudenzio sr) and Donata Pintozzi (daughter of Vincenzo) born in Garaguso on 2 feb 1871 #6

BUT THIS GAUDENZIO IS NO THE GAUDENZIO MARRIED TO DOMENICA SCAVETTA AND THAT WENT IN USA.
THIS born on 2 feb 1871 son of Vito Nicola and of Donata Pintozzi, is ANOTHER GAUDENZIO.
INSTEAD the husband of Domenica SCAVETTA, called Lorenzo in the family, was really born under the name of Gaudenzio Maria LAMAINA married in Garaguso on 11 Feb 1900, 27 old, son of Pietro and of Caterina DELL'AQUILA.

Gaudenzio Maria LAMAINA was born on 21 Apr 1873 #12 http://dl.antenati.san.beniculturali.it ... ewsIndex=0
and married to Domenica Scavetta, and went in USA on apr 1903, followed from wife and daughter in Nov 1903
I believe he was called Lorenzo in the family just to distinguish it from the Gaudenzio born on 1871...
hoping helpful,
