Post by Lisaelisa60 »

Hi
Where would I find my grandparents: Nicola falcone birth 2/14/1900 in Campobasso?
Grandmother. Maria consiglia Viola. 4/20/1908 Campobasso. Marriage : 10/20/1929 also Campobasso/

Thank you. I am looking into dual citizenship.

If this is for citizenship then you need to get an 'extract' from the town offices.

Re: Ancestry info to Salvatore DiMaggio 1821-1846

Post by Joltinjoe#111 »

I'm trying to create an ancestry tree to my paternal side of my family but have NOT been able to progress beyond my 2nd Great Grandfather, Salvatore diMaggio (1821-1846); Tusa, Sicily; His wife: possibly Reginna del Monte; their son: Salvatore DiMaggio (1847-1926); his wife: Grazie Miceli DiMaggio (1856-1925). They in turn had 3 children: Frank (1878-1944); Arthur (1882-1938) and Virginia (1886-1949). Any information you could provide me about my ancestral tree would be greatly appreciated. Thanks K

Lisaelisa60 - I have some info that you may find interesting, although it has nothing to do with your quest for dual citizenship. Your grandfather Nicola Falcone is my 4C4R/5C4R via your Ficca line. Our common ancestors are Giovanni Andrea d'Oriente (bapt. 18 DEC 1657 in CB), son of Matteo and Lucretia Torella, and Vittoria Antonia Iocca (bapt. 07 OCT 1657 in CB), daughter of Cintio and Olimpia de Robertis. Your entire Ficca line ascends in Campobasso with the exception of your 4GGF Domenico Zaccone, who was born in Gildone circa 1784. Your Falcone line is a different story. While your GGF Giovanni Falcone was born in Campobasso on 09 OCT 1862, his father Domenico Antonio was born in Casacalenda on 01 MAR 1826 and his mother Maria Lucia Gianfrancesco was born in Cantalupo on 17 AUG 1833. The surname Falcone was originally Faccone and seems to have been changed when Domenico moved to Campobasso. In Casacalenda it was always Faccone through your 2GGF Domenico Antonio Faccone, 3GGF Michele Faccone (ca. 1789/1791), 4GGF Domenico Faccone (ca. 1761/1762), and 5GGF Berardino Faccone (ca 1732 +/-).

And Domenico Faccone was "un artiste pirotecnico" - the first fireworks expert I've come across!
