Lalli, Antonio and Joseph

Post by EmeraldDove »

Hello all,
I am looking to track down some possible family.
My grandfather was Frank Lalli, Born in the united states.
His father, my great grandfather was Antonio Lalli (Known as Anthony B. Here in the states) He was born around 1893 or 1895, May 17th in what is written as a Piatretra, Italy. I cannot find info on this town but thats another form I have started. :) Antonio was Married to a Marian Miles.

I am looking for Antonio's father, Joseph, who I have a birth date of 1868, somewhere in Italy. I have it that his wife was Josephine, but I have no idea of her last name, and have been having trouble trying to find it.
So if anyone has info on Joseph or Josephine, I would forever be grateful!

The names are not easy to read but something is written for his mother's name that isn't likely to be Giuseppa (Josephine).

Hi - I found this information about an Antonio Lalli on someone's family tree on the Ancestry site:

Spouse Marian Regina Miles
Father Joseph Lalli
Children Michael Raymond
Birth 17 May 1895 Piantonia, Parma, Emilia-Romagna, Italy
Death 5 Jun 1985 Petersburg, Huntingdon, Pennsylvania, USA
Residence 1942 Huntingdon, Huntingdon, Pennsylvania, USA

This indicates Antonio was born in Piantonia. I hope this is useful to you.

Hi, I've checked the baptismal registers of Piantonia:

https://www.familysearch.org/search/cat ... %20Library

and couldn't find him.
Now, maybe there were more Parishes in Piantonia, or "Piantonia" was just an interpretation of "Piatretra" by the owner of the tree.

I am starting to get a little confused, unfortunately.
I attached some info that I have on him....

The obituary states that Josephine is his mother.... Another veterans compensation doc says that Mary was his mother's name...

Not to be incompetent... but does anyone know whats going on here, other than maybe some mistakes or name changes?

duplicate topic https://www.italiangenealogy.com/forum/topic/51909
as I said the birthplace is Pietralta hamlet of Valle Castellana town, in Teramo province.... I have no doubts ... on line are the military draft card from 1842 to 1857 and from 1880 to 1887 and just because are no further years I not found Antonio. But was a Innocente Lalli son of Giuseppe, born on 1887 in Valle Castellana( Pietralta is a hamlet so a village in the municipal territory of Valle Castellana) who was draft dodger ..
Lalli Innocente
Padre: Giuseppe

If someone have access to these microfilms https://www.familysearch.org/search/cat ... %20Library maybe can check if Valle Castellana is right.
I understand that the author topic is refractory to accept the result of my research, and perhaps I was wrong in wasting my time looking for Antonio Lalli.

as I wrote in duplicate post https://www.italiangenealogy.com/forum/topic/51909

Antonio Lalli went in USA on 23 apr 1910 joining his "brother" Vincenzo Tosi Lalli in Altoona, Blair, PA, USA.
https://heritage.statueofliberty.org/pa ... 5nZXIiOw==
Well really the right name was Vincenzo Tosi, and by his marriage record on 1909, again a confusion abt his surname... His surname was Tosi, Antonio Lalli refers to him as Vincenzo Lalli Tosi, but on the marriage the Vincenzo's father have surname Brando... full name: Francesco Otto Brando.... so maybe some mystery is on the birth of this "brother" of Antonio Lalli.
Name Vincenzo Tosi
Sex Male
Age 25
Birth Year (Estimated) 1884
Father's Name Fra. Otto Brando
Father's Sex Male
Mother's Name Teresa Lalli
Mother's Sex Female
Spouse's Name Anna Tacconelli
Spouse's Sex Female
Spouse's Age 22
Spouse's Birth Year (Estimated) 1887
Spouse's Father's Name Gaspero
Spouse's Father's Sex Male
Spouse's Mother's Name Serafina
Marriage Date 20 Jun 1909
Marriage Place Blair, Pennsylvania, United States
Source Details p.315 No. 17213

https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903 ... 3AVF3G-YW3

I believe that he was a halfbrother of Antonio Lalli. Maybe... On the Vincenzo Tosi marriage record, his mother was Teresa Lalli.
Vincenzo Tosi made 2 or 3 trips in USA.. on the trip of 1906, coming from Pietralta (hamlet of Valle Castellana) joining to Innocente LALLI "friend" in Altoona, PA.
https://heritage.statueofliberty.org/pa ... 5pZmVzdCI7

Leaving aside the right relationship, but in my previous post Innocente LALLI was son of Giuseppe and he was draft dodger... well Innocente ( first name spelled also Innocenzo) went in USA on 13 Apr 1905, coming from Valle Castellana.
joining to Domenico Tacconelli cousin in Philadelphia, PA..
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903 ... 3AJFHJ-MW1

I am pretty sure that these people are related in some way to Antonio Lalli, and maybe Innocente/Innocenzo was the brother of Antonio. I am pretty sure and bad luck no civil records on line, otherwise the birth certificate would have been easy to find. I understand the perplexity of the author of the topic, but I personally am sure of it.

So.... There is NOTHING wrong with making sure. There is no reason for the whole "perhaps I was wrong in wasting my time looking for Antonio Lalli." If that is how you will treat others, who are just looking for clarification and to make sure, I dont think you should WASTE any time helping anyone, since there are clearly strings attached to this information, and it feeds your ego.
