I’m trying to confirm, if and when, Gaetano Lantieri (1885-1940) and Dorotea Amodio (c.1891-1918), both born in Palazzolo Acreide, Siracusa, Sicilia, were married in Connecticut.
I’ve found the following:
April 1913 immigration record for “Gaetano Lantieri” and September 1913 immigration record for “Dorotea Amodio”.
January 1913 marriage index listing for “Gaetano Lantieri” and “Dorothea”.
April 1918 death index listing for “Dorodea (Amodeo) Lantier”.
September 1918 WWI draft registration record for “Gaetano Lantieri” which doesn’t list a wife as his nearest relative, which would be consistent with her death in April 1918.
1921 naturalization record for “Gaetano Lantieri” stating that his wife “Dorate” is deceased.
The problem is how could they have been married in Connecticut in January 1913, if neither had immigrated until later that year?
I suspect the marriage date is a clerical error. Perhaps the month and/or year were recorded in error?
Is there a way anyone can check on this?

Re: Marriage Confirmation
Hi - I don't know if this is meaningful to you, but the Italian Consul in San Francisco was trying to contact a Gaetano Lantieri, a fisherman from Siracusa. Here's a series of notices posted by the Italian consular office in San Francisco's L'Italia newspaper between 1903 and 1905:

Here's an engagement announcement for Lena, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gaetano Lantieri, posted in the February 5, 1934 Waterbury (CT) Democrat.

Re: Marriage Confirmation
Is this enough evidence to confirm their marriage, despite the inconsistent dates, or do the dates need to be resolved first i.e., married in Connecticut in January 1913 but not immigrating to the U.S., for the first time, until April (groom) and September (bride) of 1913?

Re: Marriage Confirmation
While this isn't of much help, I'm surprised that the January 7, 1913 Hartford marriage listing doesn't give her maiden name.
