Hi
I am searching informations about Pietro Plateo born 1868 in Fanna . He lived in Flensburg / Germany around 1900 and was married to Anna Maria Fogt from Denmark..She is one of my ancestors.
We think the family lived in Italy around 1915-20 and then emigrated to America.
But we don’t really know. Therefore it would be so nice if anyone could put some informations in this forum to help us getting along.
Some names we have heard about: Christian Plateo, Catharina Plateo, Maria Plateo born Fogt,
We also heard that they might have worked with mosaic
And we heard also mentioned : Udine .
Why lived Pietro in Flensburg / Germany at that time?
Thank you for reading this.

This is his travel to Antwerpen, Belgium, with Cristiano and Vittorio Plateo (I have not found the date):

So, Cristiano was born in Flensburg, but Vittorio in Fanna.

Re: The Plateo family from Fanna about 1880-1910
Good morning
I am still researching the Plateo familiy from Fanna …
Pietro Plateo born 1865 in Fanna and his wife and children.
I just have found out that his wife Anna Maria 1876 born in Denmark died in 1954 in Fanna and should be burried there.
But how can I be sure of that?
I dont know where to look…
Could you perhaps help me with that question or even look it up for me in a record …
Thanks in advance.
Merete

Merete,
This is just a bit of thrashing around, perhaps worth following up. These are not exactly the people you are searching for, but possibly connected. Check your records of subsequent data in the USA.
Here is the 1922 transit of a Gisella Plateo from Fanna, going to brother Luigi in NYC. She is travelling with (and possibly related to) two members of the Rosa family, one of whom is an art dealer. In case you are not familiar, these manifests consist of 2 pages each, so check the second page. https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903 ... 3AJNLS-447
Here is a Marie Henriette Fogt ariving in 1924, about the right age, headed out to Wisconsin:

A large number of Toffolos arrived in America around that time (also Costante Toffolo on the previous page):

Good luck,
Parker

Merete,
The FamilySearch account is free, you will need one to view some of these documents..
Cristiano Plateo, 27, mosaic worker arrives at New York City on 9 September 1925 aboard the ship Colombo.
From: father Plateo Pietro, Fanna, Friuli.
Destination: cousin Serena(?) Angelo, 14 Bates Street, Dayton, Ohio.
Place of birth: Hensburg, Germany.
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903 ... ction=view
returns again with wife Ella in 1947:

Caterina Plateo, 27 arrives at New York City on 13 May 1938 Aboard the ship Rex.
From: father Plateo Pietro, Fanna, Udine.
Destination: bridegroom Stellon Eugenio, 4720 Richardson Avenue, Bronx, NY
Place of birth: Flensburg, Germany.

Naturalization of Caterina (Plateo) Stellon

I do not find evidence that either Pietro or Anna Maria immigrated to America. It seems that Pietro was still in Fanna at the time of emigration of his children (1925, 1938).
----------------
This 1929 marriage of Elda Plateo shows that she was the daughter of Gisella Plateo (mentioned in my previous post) and was born in Germany. She took her mother's surname.
