Help with Birth Record translation

Post by musicalshore »

I am trying to determine the birth date, but my Italian is poor. Both the first and seventh lines have dates, I assume one is the filing date. The first date looks to be 16 Jan 1883 (sedici Gennaio). The seventh line reads “del di quindici del ______ mese”. I cannot make out that missing word.

The record is number 23, and begins on the bottom left. If anyone can give me an idea what the notes in the margins say, that would be appreciated.

Yes the first date is 16 January 1883 - the date of the birth registration.

The line where it gives the date of birth says (born) on 15 of the current month i.e. 15 January 1883.

Can you please link me to the online record as the annotation in the left column is a little blury. It looks like it is talking about a name rectification.

It looks to be saying that the father’s name, instead of being Santo Russo, it should be written Alessandro Russo.

If you post the link to the online record it should be clearer. Thanks.

@AngelaGrace56.
Esatto: una sentenza del Tribunale Civile di Napoli rettifica il nome del padre di Pasquale da Santo a Alessandro.

That is the correct record. Much thanks! What is the Italian word they are using to indicate the current month?

The word there meaning "current" is "corrente".
