Dear Mr. Joy Moran,

Civil records in the comune of Zeri start on 1866,for the priors years the research can be done to ARCHIVIO DI STATO DI MASSA - Sezione di PONTREMOLI

Riccardo

Thank you so very much for your translation.
Do you think it means that the records pre 1866 are held in Pontremoli at an office that used to be a convent?
I would like to do further research ie check that my great grandfather's brother is listed as this would then confirm I definately have the correct family.

Kind regards
Joy

PS I am female (but realise that I didn't put my title - just my name)

Dear Joy,
yes, the Pontremoli section of State Archive of Massa was a convent, and all the record prior 1866 are kept there,
good luck for your research
bye Riccardo

Thank you Riccardo
