Re: Birth Translation Request
Hi, welcome to the Forum. I've only just seen this today, so here is the translation for you:
Birth No 21 Francesco Saverio Squillace
Registered in Montepaone on 22 April 1888
Appearing before the official was Vincenzo Squillace, 26 yo, contadino (peasant/farmer), living in Montepaone. who reported that at the hour 9 am on 21 of the current month (ie 21 April 1888), in the house in Via ..... (no name or number given), from Maria Russo, his wife, a filatrice (spinner) living with him, was born a baby boy of male sex, who he presented to the official and gave the name of Francesco Saverio.
Witnesses to the registration proceedings were Francesco Venuto, 60 yo, and Bruno Tuccio, 50 yo, both contadini (peasants/farmers).
Having read the Act to those present, they declared that they did not know how to write and so was only signed by the official, Domenico Pirro (the Mayor).
