Hey all,

New guy here who’s working on his family tree. I’m in the market for a birth record for a woman named Maria Chiappette. I know she was born in 1892 in Italy. Maybe southern (Calabria/Cherisano). I’d like to find out her exact bday and who her parents were. She’s my maternal great grandmother. Thanks!

Here is an indexed card from the Immigration and Naturalization Service giving information about an arrival in 1938 to Port of New York for Maria Ricchia Chiappetta, age 46
Possibly after a visit to Italy?

Her husband is Antonio Ricchio of New Miami-Hamilton, Ohio.
Permanent resident
She leaves her brother Luigi [Chiappetta?] in Cerisano, Italy
She travels with her children: Vincenzo, Evelina, Ida and Flora. From "USC" next to Flora's name, it appears she was born in USA.

Here is a sister to the Maria Chiappetta in the birth act posted by Farassino above.
Born in 1888 - Raffaella Maria Chiappetta was the daughter of Angelo Chiappetta and Rosa Ricchio.

All of this has been very helpful thanks! I’ve been talking to my grandpa (Jim Ricchio) and this stuff is along the lines of what I’ve been able to get from him (he’s 101!) thanks again!

So your grandpa (Jim Ricchio) is the Vincenzo on the travel information of 1938? NICE!
On the immigration card he is age 15... so born about 1923-4. That would make him about 101 today! Wonderful!

AND... the Americanization of Vincenzo is James

Hey. I'm revisiting this line on my tree. Is there anything out there on who Giuseppe's wife/parents could be? I cant find anything on him.
