Here is a death record for Giovanni Ghia where it describes his deceased father's profession (Luigi). I cannot make out what it is. It is record 821 on the upper left.

Also, what does his mother's profession "agiata" mean? The transliteration is "wealthy" but that makes no sense.

I'm reading the father's profession to be "negoziante" which is a "merchant" "shopkeeper" "trader/dealer".
Yes, mother's profession is "agiata" which is "well-off" "wealthy".
