Interesting cause of death found (rare)

Post by mjclayton1 »

Hello, Forum-

This might be the first time in all of my researching (off and on over a decade) that I have seen this - meaning an actual cause of death in an Italian death record. Can someone please confirm my conclusion/translation (thank you Google Translate for some of the finer points)...

BONUGLI Bartolomea Atti di Morte (23 Sep 1855)(No 68).jpg

No. 68... on 24 Sep 1855, I have received from the Registry Office of the Municipality of Gallicano, Province of Garfagnana, a certificate signed by me for official purposes, No. 910, issued by the certifying officer, Mr. Vincenzo Cheli, stating that on September 23, 1855, at eight o'clock in the afternoon, Bartolomea, widow of Giuseppe Fabbri and second wife of Clemente Saisi, died of cholera in her home, a place called the house of Gaspari Bonugli. She was sixty years old, born and resident in Gallicano, worked as a laborer, and was the daughter of the late Silvestro and the late Rosa Bonugli. I have drawn up this document and issued the burial permit and the required form for cholera deaths.

Can anyone confirm this translation, please, and if I'm missing/interpreting something important?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks, mmogno. If anyone is interested, this read is fascinating (Cholera Cemetery at Benabbio, Lucca). My wife's 3x grand aunt would've been one of the 46 deceased between September 13 and October 11, 1855, (as per the above record, she died September 23)...
