Here is the first record that you have posted a link to. The record is for Mauro Valente's son, Angelantonio Valente (not for Mauro.)

Death No 77: Angelantonio Valente

Registered in Molfetta on 14 February 1856

It was reported that on 14 February 1856, at 3 am, in his own house, died Angelantonio Valente, who was 11 months old. He lived in Strada Catacombe, and was the son of Mauro (Valente) and of Lucrezia Cappelluti.

These two records you have posted are exactly the same records. They are Margherita's Birth Record:

Birth No 301: Margherita Valente

Registered in Molfetta on 30 March 1859

Appearing was Maria Giuseppa Cipriani, daughter of the deceased Francesco, a 63 yo, midwife, living in Strada Annunziata. She presented a baby girl born from Lucrezia Cappelluti, daughter of
Sergio, 30 yo, living Strada Catacombe, and from Mauro Valenti, son of Angelantonio, 23 yo, Marinaro, living herein. The baby was born on 30 March 1859 at 8 am in the house they lived, as above, and was given the name of Margherita Valente.

Baptism details – right column: Margherita Valente was baptised in the Cathedral Parish on 31 March 1859.

There is also an annotation under the Baptism Entry which I’m understanding to be a marriage notification: “On 18 August 1881, Act No 142, in Molfetta, Margherita Valenti, daughter of Mauro marries Nicolo’ Gaudio son of Giambattista.”

And here is the 1881 Marriage Record No 143 (not No 142):
https://antenati.cultura.gov.it/ark:/12 ... 02/LPndNbm

I'll translate it shortly.

Edit to Add: Here are the Marriage Record details:

Marriage No 143: Nicolo’ Gaudio e Margherita Valente
Molfetta: 18 August 1881

Appearing before the official were:

Groom: Nicolo’ Guadio, 28 yo Marinaro, born and residing in Molfetta, the son of Giambattista, residing in Molfetta and of Carmela de Vincenzo, also residing in Molfetta.

Bride: Margherita Valente, 22 yo, casalinga, born in Molfetta, and residing in Molfetta, daughter of Mauro, residing in Molfetta and of Lucrezia Cappelluti, also residing in Molfetta.

Pubblications were posted on 31 July, and 7 August.

Check out my previous posts here first.

Birth No 749: Giambattista Gaudio
Registered Molfetta: 24 July 1882

Appearing was Nicolo’ Gaudio, 28 yo, Marinaro (seaman/sailor), living in Molfetta, who reported that at 6 am on 24 of the current month in the house in Areo Poli?, No 6, from Margherita Valente, a casalinga (housewife/domestic duties), his wife, living with him, was born a baby of male sex, who he presented to the official and gave the name of Giambattista.

There are three annotations in the left column. The first refers to his marriage on 27 February 1908 to a Barbara?. The second I can’t decipher all the words. The third refers to his death on 25 February 1957. I’m sure someone else with fresh eyes will be able to decipher what I can’t read.

The second annotation is a marriage with Mariantonia Idricchio(?) in Molfetta on November 20th, 1952, so Gianbattista Gaudio got married twice.

I’m reading Delvecchio/Del Vecchio as the surname

I think the street in Giambattista’s birth record is Arco Poli. There’s currently a street in Molfetta which I see online is sometimes referred to as Arco Giuseppe Saverio Poli. Giuseppe Saverio Poli was born in Molfetta in 1746 and became a known physicist, biologist, and a natural historian.

Yes, I would agree with Del Vecchio, a name that appears in the town of Molfetta.

Good catch on deciphering the annotation Danip. Ofcourse I can read it clearly today.

Hi Erudita

Yes, I think you are right. Arco Poli makes better sense and now that I look at the script it does look more like a letter "c" than an "e". (I was beginning to wonder whether the town of Molfetta may have had a bit of Greek influence there.)

You are very welcome for the translations and record searches, Maria. The Forum has been a bit of a "ghost town" most of this year so it was great to "get stuck in again :D
