I have found my 8th Great Grandparents Vito Governali born 12 April 1636 in Prizzi, Palermo, Sicily, Italy and his wife Maria Domenica Canzoneri born 21 Nov 1650 in Prizzi, Palermo, Sicily, Italy. Any help would be appreciated as I’m doing this for my dad who only knew is father’s name Denis J Governale born 9 Mar 1924 in Bronx, New York City, New York, USA and his grandfather’s name John Governale born 5 June 1900 in Italy.

What town or city in Italy was he born? Using the birth certificate you can find the names of the John Governale's parents, and so on.

In the NYC birth index for 1924/Bronx, the name is Dennis J Governole (spelled this way in the index) March 9, 1924 certificate #3357. Do you have proof that the June 5, 1900 birth date for John is correct? U.S. records are pointing to May 22, 1897 as the correct date of birth.
