gratiella birth
Re: gratiella birth
after Gratiella is the word parvula for female child.
After Calafato is the Latin word for spouses, jugalis
The abbreviation is for the mother’s name Calogera which is in her marriage record..

Re: gratiella birth
the mother's surname in Grazia's marriage record is Angela Carnemulla. The name Calogera does not appear. I'll have to take a look at what appears in the baptismal record tomorrow
I have 4 marriage records for the children of Francresco Calafato and Angela Carnemolla. In none does the name Calogera appear. Her surname is spelled Carnemolla, Carnimolla, and Carnemulla in them.

Re: gratiella birth
It doesn't say Calogera or quondam in this record.
"Gratiella [Gaziella in Italian] parvula figlia del s.r [signor] Francesco et la s.ra [signora] Angila Calafato giugali..."
Even in 1652 Francesco was still alive. The use of parvula ("very small") is strange here. A newborn would always be "very small," and I don't see this word used in any other record on the nearby pages.

@carubia
Re the word parvula, it is used for Maria, the last record on the same side of the page as Gratiella’s baptism record, and once on the right side page for a female infant named Calogera, directly across from Maria’s record. It may be on other pages as well, but I haven’t checked.
