Please translate the bride's mother's surname Angela Rufsco???
i looked for her marriage but could not find it to help

On 7 September 1701, in Santa Margherita Belice, the marriage took place between Giuseppe di Maggio, who had never been married, the legitimate and natural son of the late Giovanni di Maggio and Margherita Rabbito, who had once been married and were residents of this town, and Maria Cannova, who had never been married, the legitimate and natural daughter of the late Calogero Cannova and Angela Russo, who had once been married and were residents of this town.

BUT
i am perplexed of how you found the marriage when the index does not list Calogero Cannova' name. There are only 2 "C" entries
did you go record by record? is the index incomplete?
what do you suggest i do differently so that I might be better at finding records.
I have brick walls and i hope i can learn to research better.
do you have more access or are you going to another website i do not know about yet?

Also i looked at the 1676 marriage
what is the word/name before groom's father's name- is it deceased giuseppe Paolo Cannova and Rosrdoli Giacone? that sure does not look like Rosalia lol
for bride's parents is it deceased Jacobi Russo and Catherine Furano?

going to look for their records of marriage now
ok i looked in my current method BUT did not find their marriages-- any pointers to find them

Calogero Cannova & Angela Russo's marriage is in the index. It is the 137th record in the index. I recall there was one index where it was done twice. I can give you transcriptions of all the marriage indexes in SMB up until 1824 if you're interested. The index of the first collection is in a document (an rtf) while the others are all in Excel.

obviously there are 2 collections as it is unmistakenly only 2 entries in the index i looked at in SMB for that time frame

Following the marriage record of Calogero Cannova and Angela Russo is that of Michele Russo, Angela's brother, and Grazia Cannova, Calogero's sister. Therefore, the parents of the bride and groom are named again, and this information can be used for comparison.

The parents are:
Giovanni Paolo Cannova (deceased) and Rosalia Giacone;
Giacomo Russo (deceased) and Caterina Fasaro(?) .

The wife of Giacomo Russo and mother of Michele and Angela was named Caterina Turano. She was my 8th GGM. Michele Russo and Grazia Cannova were my 7th great-grandparents.
