Great work again, Valarie.
Here's another brother of Vincenzo.
1903 manifest line 1
Giuseppe Mincione, age 42
last residence, Pontelatone
destination, Saratoga Springs to join brother Vincenzo. Address 63 Beekman St--same address as 1900 census and 1900 manifest.
In checking the site below, I found no results for the surname Mincione in the region of Calabria but did find results for both Pontelatone and Formicola in Caserta. Is it possible that the 1896 manifest I posted for Vincenzo Mingione is wrong or is the town of last residence not Gimigliano?
And if Gimigliano is correct, how did brother Giuseppe end up in Pontelatone about 300 miles away in 1903?
Surnames in Italy
Looks like the key to solving the puzzle is Maria and Vincenzo's wedding document from possibly Formicola or Pontelatone.

Neat manifest Biff
!
Trying to figure out how/why the family moved to/from Clinton County (Feb 1901) to the Saratoga/Rensselaer/Albany area.
That was quite a distance...
This may explain the Plattsburgh connection
Valarie
Great research from
James & Linda’s Mitchell family’s website

A website for the Delaware & Hudson RR:James MITCHELL, emigrated Formicola,Italy c.1890 and came to America to live and to work. He came to America with his two brothers ... Paul and Joseph. All three brothers settled in Plattsburgh, New York upon their arrival. All three worked for the Delaware & Hudson Railroad. Re: need help w/ information
yes it is a puzzle Biff, but if the ship's manifest of 1896 is correct, the only explanation possible .. it could be that the parents of Vincenzo moved from Gimigliano to Pontelatone, and the other children born here.... I found many similar case in Sicilia region... this when the father work was particular.. frankly the 1896 ship's manifest seeming correct to me.... regards, suanjBiff83 wrote:Great work again, Valarie.

Re: need help w/ information
William Mitchell, born 1901 was in the St Joseph Infant home, Troy NY with his brothers Joseph and Paul in 1910. James, Mary and the other children where also living in Troy at the time. I don't know why they were there. Mary last appears on the 1925 NY census in Troy, NY. James is on the 1940's census, living with his son Henry, his wife Angelina and there two sons.
