Hello! Have you some news about the relationship between LaPella or Leapello or Leppello and Lippelli from the south of Italy?

The base surname for all the LIPPI's surnames is FILIPPI. Aletreratioins,m deviations, abbreviations consist of lippi, lippo, lippa, lippiello, lippini and Lipparini but those with eiuther DI or DE in front the surname are in Sourthern Italy, however Lippiello and Lippolis extends from northern Italy down to the south of Italy as well. =Peter=

Hello

I am sorry I have not responded earlier...I have not been searching this site for awhile.

Your last name is Lippelli? Can you tell me a little more about your family?

My gr grandparents(Givovanni Lippell i or o/ changed to Lapello) and Felicia Romano) and their 2 young sons immigrated to USA in 1886 from Naples Italy. I am searching for my gr grandfathers town in which where he was born with the hopes to find his parents names and any siblings he may have had.
They lived for about 14 yrs in the USA , primarily in Youngstown, Ohio. They had 3 more children, my grandfather being one of them.
They all moved to Toronto Canada for their remaining years.

Hoping to hear back from you soon.

LIPPELLI is an abbrevation of the basic surname FILIPPI first mentioned in Firenze in 1260 inthe book titled "LIBRO DI MONTAPERTI" "Filippus qui Lippus vocatur"

The surname Filippi is derived from the Greek PHILIPPOS. =Peter=
