NEED HELP TO FIND TARSIA/O from Italy CERCHIARA , CALABRIA

Hi All,

I'm trying to find my related in U.S. a part of my family tree.

My great granpa Luigi Tarsia came to US in 1896 and stay there for 10 years than he come back in Italy , but he left there in USA 3 brothers Giuseppe , Pietro , Domenico and 2 sisters Angela Maria.
All they came from CERCHIARA , CALABRIA.

We never know what happens to Giuseppe and his family.

We know that Pietro came back in Italy , but he left there 2 sons Frank Tarsio and Anthony J. Tarsio and 1 daughter Frances. They changed lastname from TarsiA to TarsiO.

We know that Domenico lived in US moved from NY to Garfield (NJ), and he had 2 sons and 5daugthers:
Angelina Tarsia , Fannie Tarsia , Nicholas Tarsia ,Catherine Tarsia,Maddeline Tarsia , Frank Tarsia , Marie Tarsia.


I'm trying to find theid related in US.

Go to ellisiland and look up Giuseppe Tarsi's entry with his father luigi so that you can get Giuseppe's age at time of entry and thenyou will know how to find him either thru social securiy death index or maybe thru his telephone listing in NY or NJ or even maybe a son called ALouis Tarsia after his father Luigi..

Go to www.ancestry.rootsweb.com for social security death index (once you know GIUSEPPE'S year of birth from ellisisland LISTING.) Also go to www.numberway.com for Giuseppe or Joseph Tarsio or Tarsia and donot put inthe state and see if you can locate Giuseppe or Joseph by location in NY or NJ and name and years of age which you will know from his age whe he engtered the US at Ellisisland. =Peter=

The NJ White Pages

You may also want to try social networks like www.facebook.com and see if you find anyone with the same surnames living it NJ. You can then send them a message. You must have an account though to use it.

This free site might also help you as it has may different options

Can you give the approximate years of birth for the children of Pietro?

I have found a Frances Tarsia age 86 which would put her birth year around 1922. Does that sound right? If so I will send you a private message (pm) with her address and phone number.
