Teresa Arcuri(Graziano) from Carlopoli or Castagna Calabria
Teresa is my wifes Grandmother , the family say's she immagrated from Carlopoli to Canada then came with an Uncle? to utica NY .She was married at 15 so she would have been 10 or 12 when she came over--this is questionable ?They also say she was an orphan , but I have her Birth Cert which says mom was Giuseppina Colosimo and dad Giuseppe Arcuri..Real mystery ! We cannot find Canadian Crossing Records or Ship info that matches . we have a dead end--Can any one help ? She Married Vincenzo Graziano in 1903 in Utica NY--I have all info after that ...THANKS

Re: Teresa Arcuri(Graziano) from Carlopoli or Castagna Calab
I think I may have some info in a weird twist of fate .. my great great grandfather was actually convicted in 1905 for killing a man named Giussepe Arcuri in 1904 in Rossman, NY. May explain the orphan story as far as the father goes. Even stranger, while the killer Gabriel Talerico was in jail, his family lived in Utica...
Do you think we have a match ? my email is stevemilano2 at yahoo

If you would like a photo of the church in Carlopoli and the baptismal font they should be on my website, if not let me know and I will send to you.

Hello,
go to castagnisi.it site to see a family tree of the résidents of carlopoli and castagna, immigrants to Utica and Montréal as early as 1950, you will see names of arcuri and graziano. My grandfather is in the site Pancrazio De Fazio.
Good luck

Re: Teresa Arcuri(Graziano) from Carlopoli or Castagna Calabria
Hi, I am new here and just came across this post.
I believe you have the wrong Guiseppe Arcuri, the one that was shot in Rossman NY in 1904, in newspaper articles states he went back to Italy a year before he was murdered and was married then returned to the states without his bride to save up the money to bring her back....he was Born in 1876 or 18777 and was 27 when he was killed in 1904....so the dates for the orphan would match up....the newspaper articles did say guiseppe Acruri left behind a sister and 2 brother in laws, which I am looking to find info on the if anyone knows anything on that....
Also was hoping to find who Guiseppe married the year he went back to italy?
Also anyone knowing of a Dominico Acuri who married a Marrianna they had 1 son Joseph Arcuri, which mom and son came to utica ny in 1893....but cant get any info on Dominico?
Any help would be appreciated.
Hope the above info help.
