Stabile in campo fiorito

Hello, I have the least info on this branch of my genealogy. My grandfather is Francesco Stabile who was born in campo fiorita as stated on his tomb... He died in USA New Orleans,LA June 1934 in his 50's. I do have his father's name Stephano Stabile but am not able to locate anything on him.. How does one approach it in regards to the possibility that he was born elsewhere. Thanks for any thoughts.

We try to locate US documents that may indicate birthplace, such as WWI alien registration card, immigration card, or arrival manifest, etc.

Could this be your Francesco in 1920 US Census in New Orleans?
He is single, the owner of a grocery store, and age 48.
Residing with him is his brother Philip/Filippo, also single and age 53.

If you cannot find records for Frank/Francesco that identify his birthplace, you can try to locate those records for his brother Filippo... which would provide the same result.

hum i have francesco's mother as Pasquale Montelione -- i guess this is erroneous information-- now wondering what made me think that.... his eldest son - steve is still alive... will have to ask him at some point.. he is 92 and hard to capture in conversation. thanks so much-- this is fantastic! i know he was married in the bronx new york in 1923 but do not know how to see an image of the marriage certificate to see if parents are mentioned on that as well--
