Acquavia family
I'm looking for some information about my great-great-grandfather Giuseppe Aquavia. He was born in Ruoti, Italy, in the province of Potenza, and emigrated to the United States together with his wife Rosa Aquino and his son Pietro Acquavia, probably at the beginning of the 1900s. I know they lived in Washington, but I did not find their names on Ellis Island's lists. Do you know if there are other ways to know about them?

Hello!
Can you add any info, for instance, their birth dates?

f.iallorenzi: I have had good luck with Ancestry, Geni and FamilySearch websites. The Ancestry website is particularly helpful when used with a World subscription (access to some Italian records online).
I have many Acquavivas (note the 'c' and the second 'v') in family trees on all three websites, but the largest number are on Ancestry. Unfortunately for you, my branch of Acquavivas is not from the same area of Italy as yours.
There were other ports of entry in the 1900s for immigrants into America besides Ellis Island. Perhaps try ItalianImmigrants(dot)org, ImmigrantShips(dot)net, US National Archives Italians to American Passenger Data Files (1855-1900) at https://aad.archives(dot)gov/aad/series-description.jsp?s=4433&cat=GP44&bc=,sl&col=1002 .
In all three website addresses you will need to replace (dot) with a period (.).
Best of luck in your search!

Opinions do not always mean that the destination is always different.
