Hi,
Would it be possible to get citizenship in the following way (with a court case):
My US-born grandmother married an Italian citizen around 1925. He naturalised in 1928. They had my dad in 1939. Was my grandmother an Italian citizen due to her marriage, and if so, can I apply for citizenship through her (with a court case)?
Or, is it better to apply as follows:
The same US-born grandmother had 2 Italian citizen parents at the time of her birth. I could apply through her father. Would this be easier to win in court? It would be more documentation.
Thanks.
Citizenship from grandmother's marriage
Re: Citizenship from grandmother's marriage
Either way would work. Choose the one requiring the least documentation and with the fewest discrepancies. Since this would require a court case, you may want to ask your lawyer which direction he prefers that you take.
