Italian Birth Translation

Post by jmtcal »

Hi,

Thank you in advance.

Looking for translation for birth announcement for Nicola Califano. I know that his father is Alfonso Califano and his mother is Angelina LaFemmina.

I think from the announcement that Angelina's parents are Matteo and Maria Pepe.

On the side bar it states Nicola married Teresa Farina.

I cannot make out any of the other names and dates.

Hi John!

Record date: Jun 16th, 1874
Declarant (father): Alfonso Califano, son of deceased Saverio, 36 yo, blacksmith, living in Pagani at strada Pendino
Mother: Angiola La Femina, daughter of Matteo and Maria Pepe, 29yo, housewife, his wife
Child: Nicola, born on Jun 145th at 1am

It's not usual to find mother's mother's name in a birth record: you are lucky!

Hi,

Thanks for the quick response. Is there any mention of Alfonso's mother? Servini's wife?

Thanks again.

John

No, she's not mentioned. At least, as far as I can see.
