My older Brother HL-2240 printer is printing spotty pages. I've replaced the toner for $39.99 with little improvement. It turns out that it's the drum that is shot. Otherwise, the printer appears to operate okay.
I've never replaced a drum, just bought a new printer when my current printer was failing.
A new drum is $85.99 and a comparable new printer is $119.99.
What would you do - buy a new drum or buy a new printer?
As I've said, I've never replaced a drum so I don't know if that's cost-effective.
