eligio di maggio e liboria liotta

Post by lindamauer »

Hello,
archdiocese agrigento

Eligio seems odd to me-- what does it mean?

marriages may 21 1736 Santa margherita di belice
folio 157 right lecto 2nd record down.
Please translate- any info will help with further research

i also see on the left side a marriage with La Greca e Ann Maria Liotta are the parents the same. The order of the record is not somewhat usual to what i understand I can't read this mess well.

Thanks
Linda

The name Eligio means “chosen one.”

Eligio di Maijo was never before married, legitimate and natural son of spouses Antonino di Maijo and Maria Mauceri

Bride Liboria Liotta was the widow of deceased Gaspare Salvato. She was the legitimate and natural daughter of deceased Francesco Liotta and deceased Giovanna Mule

Witnesses were Cleric Pietro la Nene and Nicola Cardenzio and others
