MKU61, pretty sure you found out the correct info on your Grandfather John Iurato but thought I'd say that my Great Grandmother Elisabetta Gagliardi married a Giovanni Battista Ieradi in 1940 after her first husband Domenico Maiorano died in 1940.

It's possible yes, and I believe many Italians came from Spain. Research the three Spanish knights, Osso, Mastrosso and Carcagnosso. Also, there is a province near Liguria and San Remo called Moreno. I'm thinking the name may have come from Spain and once they got to Italy, changed it to Marino ...
