Re: Help translating marriage record for Lucia Baglio
Thanks so much, Erudita. I have been trying to find a baptismal for Mariano Baglio and a marriage record for his parents, Vincenzo and Maria Baglio in Corleone but with no luck. I found Ignazia's baptismal in Corleone. Any suggestions? I thought all the Baglio's originated from Corleone. They are my mother's family.

I found a Mariano Baglio in the Corleone baptism index for 1749. It’s folio 24, dated April 5, 1749. His name in the record is Mariano Pasquale Baglio and his father is Vito and not Vincenzo. Interesting is that his mother was Lucia (Sparacio). I’m wondering if these parents had multiple first names on their baptism records and then only one of those first names was used in subsequent records. We need to investigate this possibility further. Without one of the marriage records giving us a different town of origin, it would be like looking for a needle in a haystack. It actually blows my mind that, during a period in which there wasn’t modern means of travel between cities, some of our ancestors did manage to marry in other cities, and even in different provinces.

The parents of Mariano Pasquale that I mentioned above were married in Prizzi on Sept 5, 1734 folio 135, image 201 of 399. They had no other first names in their marriage record.
Didn’t get a chance to track down their baptism records though to see if there were additional first names in those records.

Re: Help translating marriage record for Lucia Baglio
Thanks Erudita. I saw the baptismal foe Mariano Pasquale and realized the parents were different. I have cugini still living in Corleone. I doubt if they would know anything about the ancestors that far back but won’t hurt to ask them. Don’t know how far back the records for nearby towns go but will check. May have to write Corleone again. Was there last year. Wish I would have know this. Thanks again.

Re: Help translating marriage record for Lucia Baglio
Thanks so much mmogno and Erudita. Not sure if that is the correct Mariano but the dates and his wife's name fits. I found a death record for Vito, son of Mariano and Ignazio, page 307 3rd record. Would appreciate a translation. Not sure what the wording is after Santa Fasciana's name. Thanks again.
