I'm looking for Andrew (Andrea) Ughetti and sister Celestine. I have a ship manifest that I believe is him (hometown Giaveno, Turin, Italy). I'm having trouble getting the information off it though.
Traveling with Giusto(?) Ughetti. Brother? There are notations on the name I don't understand, if ...

Applications for marriage publications, Brandol, Viretto and Giai Via
I have two applications for marriage publications - I know they're not a marriage registry but I'm wondering if there is any useful information in here (birthdays, parents' names). Is there anyone who can help read them?

Re: Marriage certificate translation help
Oh, those are much more readable than the copies from the microfilm that I have, thank you! Can anyone help me figure out what they say?

Marriage certificate translation help
I have these copies of marriage certificates, I can kind of struggle through the text but the handwriting is really getting me. Any help?

Re: Romano - LaRuffa | Casino, Italy
So far I haven't traced any of our Romano's back to Sicily, but I know that Dominica LaRuffa was born in Trupani (Tropani?) Sicily. I am having a terrible time tracing this family! Her husband was Gabriel Romano and I have no idea where he was born, only that they eventually moved to Casino ...

Re: Vincenzo Tallerico - Casino (Catanzaro)
I can't figure it out. Both census records put him at birth date 1881 and both draft cards put him born in 1886. It's possible that they could be two different men... but both with wives from Casino named Rosina?
Looks like there are two possibilities for brothers, Francesco Tallerico on the ship ...

Re: Vincenzo Tallerico - Casino (Catanzaro)
I think the age is right on the census, the 1881 birthdate matches the 1930 census at any rate. I wonder why the birth date would be wrong on both draft cards? What are the question marks on the first card. Can you view the actual card?

Vincenzo Tallerico - Casino (Catanzaro)
I am tracing my great-grandmother's line. On Maria Romano's ship manifest, it states that she's traveling to her brother-in-law Vincenzo Tallerico's house in Castle Gate, UT (she's on page 6, line 3 of this manifest, written as M Concetta Romano.)

Re: Rosina Romano, Casino, Italy
I will ask my aunt if she remembers any of the children's names. All I know is Rosina's birthday and the place they came from.
The 1920 census seems off, does that list Rosina's father's name as Frank? Her father's name was Gabriel.
I think the 1930 census that lists her husband as James is the ...

Casino became Castelsilano (KR) in 1916. It's in the Calabria region of southern Italy.

Rosina Romano, Casino, Italy
After much searching, I found the name of my great-grandmother's sister.
She was born Rosina (sp?) Romano in 1890, in Casino, Italy to Dominica LaRuffa and Gabriel Romano.
At some point she came to America and married a Tallerico (I don't know if she married here or in Italy). She died in ...

Re: Romano - LaRuffa | Casino, Italy
Further information about this family:
Dominica LaRuffa was born 1873 in Trupia, Tropani, Sicily (father's name was Dominic). She died in 1845.
I still have had no luck finding anything about the father or sister.
